Service categories
Service categories let your organisation group services the way your business actually operates, installation, maintenance, consulting, training, support retainer, and so on. Categories drive default rates, approval thresholds and analytics, and they power the filters on the service list.
Manage categories
Section titled “Manage categories”Managing categories is restricted to the admin role.
- Open Settings → Service categories.
- Click New category and enter:
- Name and code (both must be unique within your organisation)
- Description
- Default delivery mode
- Default approval threshold
- Save.
Activate or deactivate a category
Section titled “Activate or deactivate a category”- Use the active / inactive toggle on any category to control whether it can be used on new services.
- Inactive categories stay on record but are no longer offered when creating a service.
Where categories are used
Section titled “Where categories are used”- On the service catalogue as a filter.
- On the create-service form to classify a service.
- By the configurable cost-component definitions.
Categories are scoped to your organisation only, and every change is recorded in the audit log.
