Warehouse master

The warehouse master lets you model your physical and logical storage so the inventory screens match how your business actually stores stock. Every stock movement and balance is held per warehouse (and per bin, when you use bins).

Create and maintain warehouses with:

  • Code and name
  • Type: main, return-to-vendor (RTV), scrap, QC, service, transit or virtual
  • Address
  • Default flag, one warehouse can be marked as your organisation’s default (used to pre-fill pickers)

You can edit and deactivate warehouses. A deactivated warehouse drops out of the pickers so no new movements route to it.

Within a warehouse you can define a bin/location hierarchy: for example zone → aisle → rack → bin, to whatever depth you need. Bins let you record precisely where stock sits, and a receipt into a bin must belong to the chosen warehouse.

Warehouses and bins are managed through the standard create/edit form. (Bulk CSV import isn’t offered here, you typically have only a handful of warehouses.)

  • Per-warehouse data-scope can be granted to roles or users, so people only see and act on the warehouses they’re responsible for.
  • Only authorised roles can change warehouse or bin records.
  • Every create, edit and deactivation is captured in the audit log with the actor and the before/after values.
