Compliance and warranty

Flag an item as hazardous so dispatch enforces the right handling.

  • Capture a hazmat flag plus the UN / IMDG / ADR class.
  • When the flag is on, the dispatch flow requires a hazmat manifest before goods leave.
  • Hazmat items show storage warnings at receipt.
  • Before a shipping label is generated, the system checks the chosen carrier accepts the hazmat class.

Only an admin or compliance role can edit hazmat settings, every change is audited, and the hazmat section is hidden when your organisation doesn’t handle hazardous goods.

Capture the details needed for cross-border shipping and duty calculation.

  • Country of origin, using standard country codes.
  • A tax classification code plus a customs tariff code per region (HSN / SAC / HS / HTS, depending on your regime).
  • Codes are validated against the format rules of your enabled tax regime, a malformed code is rejected.

These codes are captured against the item for cross-border shipping and duty calculation. Only an item-manager or admin can edit, every change is audited, and the section is hidden when your organisation has no cross-border or tax regime enabled.

Set default warranty terms applied to sold units.

  • Capture warranty period (months), type (manufacturer / extended / none) and conditions text.
  • At sale, a per-unit warranty record is created against the serial or batch.
  • Terms can be overridden at sale time.
  • The service module consults warranty status before making warranty-coverage decisions.

Only an item-manager or admin can edit warranty defaults, and every change is audited.

Set a per-item return policy so return flows enforce the right rules.

  • Capture returnable yes/no, return window (days), restocking-fee % and conditions text.
  • Tenant defaults apply when an item has no policy of its own.
  • The return flow checks the policy before accepting a return.

Only an item-manager or admin can edit, and every change is audited. Warranty and return policies are specific to your organisation and never shared.
